Cultural Relativism and the Catholic Frat Boy

If what is right is what "my society" approves of, what if I live in many societies. A Catholic frat boy is part of one social group, namely, the Catholic Church, which disapproves of premarital sex, and another group, his frat, which thinks it's fine and dandy.

A study of sociology (see the marvelous book, OUR KIND, by a noted sociologist named Harris I believe) has made me aware that human beings can reproduce and even flourish to varying degrees in a variety of different societies with different rules. Marvelous essays in Harris' book, OUR KIND.

I don't think the post was about sociology of rules. Interesting nonetheless.
